A newer generation nymph imitation, the Brassie has excellent sinking properties. This fly should be fished sub surface varying the sink time until the feeding depth is achieved. The Brassie works well as a midge, mayfly, PMD or Blue winged olive representation. I have used this fly to gear success on the Grande River in Ontario, Canada.
