BH Kaufmann's Golden Stone Nymph - Bead Head, is just a tasty stonefly. A plump Kaufmann's Bead Head Golden Stonefly Nymph is just what the trout doctor ordered, fish this fly close to the bottom which will mean you loose a few but deeper swims often produce more consistent results. If you need to get a Kaufmann's Bead Head Golden Stone down in the faster runs then pop on a couple of small slit or change to a sink-tip line and some fluorocarbon leader. Kaufmanns Bead Head Stone Golden. Imitates the Salmonfly nymph (Pteronarcys californica) One of my personal favorites. The Kaufmanns Stonefly nymph is one of the most deadly fly and float fishermen patterns. Productive in most rivers and lakes across Canada and the US. I have fished these nymphs in a variety of colors on most of the Great Lakes tribs including the Maitland, Nine Mile and Bayfield. This fly will catch just about every species that swims including Bass & Carp but for Steelhead it is just incredible. Golden Bead Head Kaufmanns Stones should be fished close to the bottom so you will loose a few so stock up on these incredible imitations, you just won't regret it.
